As a self-described Deadhead, there’s a gap that’s bothered me for a long time now: if you want Grateful Dead stats and breakdowns, you go to one site. If you want to actually listen, you go somewhere else. Nobody had ever put those two things in the same place, so I built it.
Steal Your Stats is an annotated Dead archive covering 2,334 shows, 441 songs, 593 venues, and roughly 6,300 hours of recorded music, all playable in-browser from archival soundboards and audience tapes, right there alongside the setlist. Every track has a timestamp. Every show has an opener, a closer, a set breakdown.
Beyond the shows themselves, there’s a full stats layer: song-by-song breakdowns, an era-by-era analysis of the band’s five distinct chapters from the Acid Tests to Soldier Field, venue rankings, and individual band member pages with shows-per-year charts and signature nights worth knowing.
The feature I’m personally most proud of is the setlist builder for Grateful Dead cover bands. You search a song, and it tells you what songs the Dead typically played into and out of it, with historical frequency counts. Sugaree? They went to Hell in a Bucket 67 times. Jack Straw 35 times. You build the list, it calculates your total set length from real average song durations, and you leave with something that actually flows like a Dead set.
